Lee County dental space ranges from established Fort Myers professional offices to newer suites in growing areas. In any of them, a dental build-out starts with checking existing conditions in the field rather than relying on old drawings.
Since 2007 we have completed more than 200 dental, medical and commercial projects, working from our office in Doral and serving South & Central Florida.

Which office reviews your permit
Depending on the property’s location, permits may be reviewed by the City of Fort Myers, Lee County for unincorporated areas, the City of Cape Coral, or the Village of Estero. We verify the applicable permitting jurisdiction before submitting plans and coordinate required inspections. Permit review timelines and approval decisions remain with the responsible authorities.
Existing conditions and flood zones
If a particular building has had repairs, alterations or a series of tenants, its plumbing, electrical and HVAC may not match the original plans, so we verify drain routes, panel capacity and air distribution before pricing. Properties within designated flood hazard areas may be subject to additional construction requirements. Depending on the scope and cost of improvements relative to the building’s market value, substantial-improvement provisions may apply. The applicable building department or floodplain administrator determines the requirements for the property. We identify these considerations during preliminary project planning.

Existing dental office or converted commercial suite?
Reusing a previous dental tenant’s suite can save work when its lines and layout match your equipment, after testing and an accessibility and electrical review. Converting a commercial suite means saw-cutting for new under-slab plumbing, a mechanical room for the vacuum pump and compressor, and power and HVAC upgrades.
Frequently asked questions
Are you licensed to build dental offices in Fort Myers?
Yes. Desscon Builders, Inc. holds Florida Certified General Contractor License CGC 1513684, which applies statewide. Local permits still apply.
Can you work in a building that has had repairs or alterations?
Yes. We field-verify plumbing and electrical routes, because altered systems may not match older drawings.
How long will our build-out take?
It depends on the space, the permit review and equipment lead times. We propose a schedule after reviewing your drawings; review times remain with the building department.
